Melba Storm secured her breeding future with a fast finishing 3rd placing today at Caulfield in the Alinghi Stakes over 1100m. The consistent performing mare a winner of 6 races from 15 starts deserved that black type result on her resume and with it becomes a more valuable commodity. She missed the start which didn’t help her chances and was unable to get to the better part of the track in the run. Jockey Jye McNeil was forced to go to the inferior inside ground where she came from well back to sneak into the money beaten just 1.85L Big thanks to Tom Dabernig and his team for presenting her in great order on the day. She’ll now head to the Flemington Carnival where we hope to add to her black type success.
