Maxxi Bon the 4yo gelded son of G1 winner BON AURUM went back to back wins at Cranbourne winning his BM64 over 1600m. He won his previous start a Maiden over same trip but improved his time by about 12 lengths in the run. Clearly a horse going places as no easy feat to go straight from a Maiden to win your BM64 next start. Jockey Matthew Cartwright who has steered him for both wins forming a great combination with horse, never panicked when last on turning got him to open air and he stormed home to get up in the shadows of the post. Trainer Wendy Kelly knows how to get the best out of the breed with three Bon Aurum wins for the month and must take all credit for the success the horse is having this current campaign after some niggling issues previous preparation. Another Ken King bred winner.
