Trainer Alex Rae continued his hot streak when his three-year-old filly I’m Foxing romped in with the MRC Membership Made of Moments (1000m) by four-and-a-quarter lengths.
In a brilliant display of sustained speed, Luke Cartwright on I’m Foxing used the rails to share the lead with Wintery before they sprinted clear at the top of the straight and leaving her rivals in her wake.
Rae assessed I’m Foxing, who made it four wins on end, a spring filly after the win.
“The worlds her oyster. She’s a very exciting horse with blistering speed,” Rae said.
“We won’t commit to anything. She’s a potential spring filly on the back of that,” he said.
Rae said he had been teaching I’m Foxing to settle in her races as she wanted to go quickly but then decided to turn that upside down and instead use her main weapon which is her speed.
“It’s really exciting. It’s also been a great learning curve. I did everything in my power to teach her to switch off so we could hold her up and be strong late. Over the past couple of months we’ve learnt to embrace her speed,” he said.
“She’s a fast horse and there’s not many who can burn the candle at both ends.”
I’m Foxing is owned by a Ken King and his fellow owners.
Another Ken King bred winner!
