Villa Seventynine a gelded 3yo son a G1 winner BON AURUM recorded his break through Maiden win at Bairnsdale today over 1200m. It’s taken a few starts for the penny to drop with this fellow but he put the writing on the wall at his previous start when he ran a slashing 3rd at Pakenham from the back on a leaders night. Today jockey Joe Bowditch had him closer in the run sitting midfield and he had no trouble in gathering the field in after he rounded the corner to score a decisive win. Once he found the front he switched off and had a good look around so more upside to come once he finally gets it but there is no doubt the 3/4 brother to our multiple stakes winner BONS AWAY has a bright future ahead. Trainer Wendy Kelly has had a lot of faith in him and it was good to see her get winning result. Another Ken King bred winner!
