BONS AWAY added his 2nd stakes win today at Caulfield beating the shorty courtesy of a Linda Meech peach of a ride. The 5yo gelding stalked the leaders into the straight and when the gap came on the fence burst through to win. LInda Meech was stoked to be re united with the horse and was very confident going into the race after she trialled him. He’d been out of the winners circle for 17 months but that did not reflect his Spring campaign where he raced without luck and finished in the money four times at Stakes level. Today those demons were set aside and the G1 Oakleigh Plate now beckons as his next assignment. Trainers Ciaron Maher & David Eustace commented that “he was still improving and they felt there was more to come in the prep”. We are proud to able to breed and race such genuine horses with a close ownership group that really appreciate the horses efforts.
