Oceanic Drift is getting a bit of a reputation as a short course specialist after his all the way win at Cranbourne in a BM64 over 1000m. He pinged the gates to lead and was too good in the run to win by a comfortable margin. That was his 2nd win this prep over the 1000m. Apprentice Cam Rawiller took luck out of the equation when he went straight to the front and controlled the race and ran it on his terms. Trainer Wendy Kelly has always felt the 3YO Kuroshio gelding has talent and it is good to see him putting it all together on the track and rewarding her faith. Another Ken King bred winner.
