Crimson Ace brought up her 3rd career win from 11 starts at Cranbourne overnight. She was succesfull in the Mercedes Mornington Mile Final over 1600m where she came from off the speed to record a solid win over the race favourite. On a night when it was hard to make ground jockey Regan Bayliss had her back early but picked his way through the field to have her in clear air at the top of the straight where she let down with a terrific burst to nail the well backed runner in front in the closing stages. The daughter of Skilled appreciated the heavy track conditions and looks in for a solid Winter campaign. Trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young have always had a nice opinion of this mare but she has always needed a bit of cut out of the ground so the conditions going forward should suit and she now can have a crack in town. Another Ken King bred winner.
