Bons Away gallant brave but just not good enough finishing 2nd in the WFA G2 McEwen Stakes at Moonee Valley. From his wide gate had to go back and get cover and just had to make up too much ground to get himself into the race. Ran the fastest 800m at 44.76s and looked the winner coming into the straight but peaked on his run 50m out and the winner was able to hold him out. The 2nd placing was his 6th at stakes level and took his prizemoney earnings beyond $500K.

The stakes placing marked  Ken King Thoroughbreds 50th 1st 3 finish at black type level comprising 21 stakes wins and 29 stakes placings.
