Bons Away stepped up from successive Country wins in two BM64’s and a BM70 to Listed grade at Caulfield in fine style with an impressive 4th win on the trot in the Testa Rossa Stakes. Not considered a real hope by the good judges in a market stymied by a shortie the 4YO Bon Hoffa gelding came with a sustained run from well back to record the fastest last 800m 600m and 400m on the day and put his more fancied rivals to the sword.   Jockey Linda Meech gave him a peach of a ride and has won on him 3 times.Trainer Ciaron Maher has done a terrific job building the horses confidence and the horse is  repaying him and his owners by racing with great heart. His record now is 5 wins from 9 starts and building. Breeder and Managing Owner Ken King was thrilled to see the Bon Hoffa son emerge as a genuine Spring hopeful after his  talented 2016 G1 winner Bon Aurum was sidelined for the Carnival due to injury.
